A wedding is a brilliant, exciting time – a day to remember and a day to bring family and friends together. However, bringing it all together can be stressful with so much to remember and organise.
During our own engagement, I could not find a complete wedding “to-do” list for getting married in Ireland. I planned the wedding on Excel spreadsheets, different diaries/journals, magazine cut out’s, different countdowns from multiple websites, wedding planning notes from friends, my sister-in-laws etc. Our day was so beautiful and thankfully went off without a hitch! We had a beautiful Christmas wedding and even the snow didn’t dampen our spirits in fact only added to the special day as it was so romantic … and of course, meticulously planned!
On honeymoon as we chatted about our big day, I kept coming back to saying how much easier the planning would have been if there was a checklist which listed everything you needed to do to getting married in Ireland. And with that, My Wedding Planner was born!
It took a while to come together, with my normal day job, the arrival of kids, moving houses etc but I am just over the moon with it. This is the first time I have ever done anything like this! Setting up a start-up Irish small-business was very daunting but I was so excited at the prospects of selling many planners and in making every bride’s life easier in planning the most magical day in their lives!
A big thank you to my husband, Niall, who encourages, motivates and inspires me on a daily basis (but also puts perspective on many things!) Each My Wedding Planner sold is a keepsake for every bride but for me creating this planner it is my forever keepsake in always remembering our amazing one year engagement planning our big day!
